2012 was a roller coaster. Alex and I had huge ups and many downs. 2013 promises to be better and I am once again
optimistic. More importantly, I am incredibly grateful for my family and
friends who have been so supportive the last five years.
Last year at this time I wrote about the
top ten things I learned from Alex in 2011. This year I plan to focus on
ways to be grateful, to pay it forward and to celebrate who we are and the
gifts we have been given. As a starting point I googled
the top ten new years resolutions and was pointed to about.com
Pittsburgh and the following list:
1. Spend More
Time with Family & Friends
2. Fit in
Fitness
3. Tame the
Bulge
4. Quit Smoking
5. Enjoy Life
More
6. Quit Drinking
7. Get Out of
Debt
8. Learn
Something New
9. Help Others
10. Get Organized
Over the years I have embraced all of
these resolutions at some point, some successfully and some not so successfully.
Some have been conquered and will not need to be revisited this year and some
are still huge gaps in my life.
My list has boiled down to the following:
1. Spend More
Time with Family & Friends
2. Enjoy Life
More
3. Learn
Something New
4. Help Others
For the next week I will focus on what
these resolutions really mean to me, my family and my community. How can I be a
better person? How can I contribute to my community? and finally, How can I
honor the magic of Alex?
Our wishes for a Happy and Healthy 2013 to All!
I look forward to hearing more about them!
