I have learned about person center planning and the PATH process, (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope) a positive way to help young adults with disabilities chart their own futures, guided by their circles of support. I became a certified PATH facilitator and have been able to meet more young adults from outside our community. I an honored to call many of these young adults my friends.
This is Win, a young lady whose PATH I attended, Win's dream was to write a book about her life with cerebral palsy. This was all laid out in her PATH as well as the steps and resources she suggested (with her circle of support) that would help her realize this dream.
Win wrote an amazing and honest biography and is actively promoting it. She asked for advice, researched marketing strategies and implemented many of these tricks of the trade. This is much more than I have done to market our story.
If I ever have a question about social media or self publishing, Win is the first person I would go to for advice. A huge thank you to Win for providing this review of my book, "From Grief to Celebration, How One Family Learned to Embrace the Gift of Down Syndrome", through her YouTube Channel.
